Moet Hennessy To Acquire its First Rosé Wine

Moet Hennessy has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Chateau du Galoupet, Cru Classe, which will give Moet Hennessy its first rosé wine.

The estate is located along the French coast in La Londe-les-Maures and has 168 acres of vines and almost 220 unplanted acres. The company claims the vineyard has a micro-climate and exceptional land with diverse soils. Ninety percent of the wine produced at Chateau du Galoupet is rosé. The remaining 10 percent is equally divided between red and white. The emphasis on rosé comes in response to growing demand in France and around the world, says Moet Hennessy.

The estate's vines have an average age of 25, giving the wines character and structure, and Moet Hennessey says all of the Chateau's wines have won awards from guidebooks or international competitions.
