Whole Foods Cutting Prices Again

Whole Foods Market has cut its prices on hundreds of items. The company was especially focused on reducing prices for high quality, peak-of-season produce, including greens, tomatoes, and tropical fruits. On average, customers will see a 20 percent reduction on the affected items. This is the third round of markdowns the retailer made since being acquired by Amazon.

Whole Foods will also double the number of exclusive weekly deals offered to Prime members and will offer those shoppers deeper discounts. Over the next few months, Prime shoppers will have access to over 300 deals. Amazon is also running a promotion through the end of April that offers $10 off a $20 in-store Whole Foods purchase for customers who sign up to try Prime.

"When Whole Foods Market joined the Amazon family, we set out to make healthy and organic food more accessible. Over the last year, we've been working together tirelessly to pass on savings to customers," says Jeff Wilke, CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer.
