Three in four chefs believe CBD- and cannabis-infused foods will remain a hot trend in 2019, according to a survey from the National Restaurant Association, reports CNBC. While the sale of such products faces regulatory issues, some restaurateurs are striking while the iron is hot to meet consumer demand.
However, some local regulators like the New York City health department are cracking down on the sale of such products. Additionally, only 10 states have legalized cannabis for recreational purposes, and it remains illegal at the federal level, making it difficult for mainstream adoption.
