Starbucks customers are spending more per transaction as higher margin premium offerings resonate with customers, such as the Cloud Macchiato, which was released in March, reports The Seattle Times. The company's rewards program has 16.8 million active U.S. members, accounting for 41 percent of U.S. sales.
The company added 319 stores worldwide during the second quarter, with about 95 percent outside the U.S. In China alone, the company added nearly 600 stores in the last 12 months. Globally, same-store sales jumped 3 percent over last year, with China a large part of that, climbing 3 percent and the U.S. increasing 4 percent. Full Story
