Kroger Purchases First Robotic Warehouse Land

Kroger Co. has purchased land for its first warehouse and distribution center with Ocado in Monroe, Ohio, reports Cincinnati Business Courier. According to property records, Kroger paid nearly $3.1 million for the nearly 63-acre property.

The facility will use robotics to provide automated storage and product retrieval, making it more efficient for Kroger to provide customer pickup and home delivery of groceries. This and the other centers expected in Central Florida and the Mid-Atlantic should also help Kroger provide groceries to any customer across the country. The location in Monroe is scheduled to open in 2021. Full Story
