Foodnome, a food-focused startup based in Northern California, is unveiling a new web application to empower home cooks. The free resources Foodnome is releasing include one-click outreach in support of the Homemade Food Operations Act, a platform for cooks to share their passion and experience through weekly Cook Stories videos, and a dedicated hotline providing answers for potential home restaurant cooks and advocates.
"We were thrilled when [the Homemade Food Operations Act] went into effect at the state level earlier this year legalizing the sale of home-cooked food," says Foodnome founder, Akshay Prabhu. "However, there is still a lot of work to be done. Each county's board of supervisors must opt-in to the bill before home cooks can benefit from it, that is why we are providing these key resources to home restaurant advocates."
