The co-founders of cricket-powder protein-bar maker Exo have launched cereal company Magic Spoon as a way to enter the $10 billion U.S. cereal market, reports Forbes. The duo, which sold Exo in 2018, launched the line of grain-free, low-carb, and high-protein cereals in cinnamon, cocoa, fruity, and frosted flavors via a $35 monthly subscription box, with plans to break into supermarkets within the next three to five years.
The products, packaged in a whimsical and colorful design, are designed to riff on classic childhood cereals with an updated nutritional profile intended for parents, millennials with a penchant for healthy eating and nostalgic foods, and those who want a more convenient breakfast option.
