Burger King Plans to Take Impossible Whopper Nationwide

Burger King plans to expand its plant-based burger offering nationwide by the end of the year, reports CNN. The brand has been testing the Impossible Whopper, using patties from Impossible Foods, at locations in the St. Louis area. The tests have gone "exceedingly well," according to the company.

The expansion comes as younger diners look for more alternatives to meat because of concerns about health, animal welfare, and the environment. The global market for meat substitutes is forecast to grow from an estimated $4.6 billion in 2018 to $6.4 billion by 2023, according to research firm MarketsandMarkets. Full Story
