Beyond Meat's plant-based Beyond Burger will be available in the meat case at Canadian retail outlets nationwide. The product will arrive in May at more than 3,000 Canadian grocery stores, including Co-op Food Stores, Fresh Street Market, IGA, Loblaw, Longos, Metro, Save On Foods, Sobeys, and Whole Foods Market.
The Canadian market was first introduced to The Beyond Burger with its successful launch in A&W restaurants, and expansion into retail is the next step for the brand, says Beyond Meat founder and CEO Ethan Brown.
The Beyond Burger is made entirely from plants without soy, gluten, or GMOs. The patty has 20 grams of protein with less total and saturated fat than a traditional beef burger, according to the company.
