Amazon will shift to one-day shipping as the standard delivery speed for Prime members, reports Seeking Alpha. It will invest $800 million on the transition, building on its fulfillment and logistics network.
Sales in Amazon's physical stores, including Whole Foods Markets, grew 1 percent in the last quarter ended March 31 to $4.3 billion, although the company believes there is stronger growth due to online orders not counting toward physical store revenue. It will continue to expand Whole Foods' Prime delivery program, while continuing investments in other grocery initiatives, such as Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Pantry, and Go. Brian Olsavsky, Amazon SVP and CFO, notes more Prime members have used the Whole Foods discount benefit than "almost any other benefit." Full Story
