Study: Freshness Perceptions Linked to Visual Cues

Culinary Visions has released the results of its Fresh Perspectives Study, reports Supermarket News. The study revealed that 76 percent of consumers said a fully stocked shelf or display case is key to assessing a product's freshness. In addition, more than 90 percent of respondents said a merchandising dispay's cleanliness is indicator of freshness, and nine out of 10 customers said they don't like clutter around a fresh food display.

In addition to the retail setting, the study also asked consumers about perceptions of freshness in foodservice, and covered areas such as merchandising, flavor preferences, customization, and convenience. Full Story
