The Kellogg Co.'s MorningStar Farms will transition all products to vegan by 2021, reports MarketWatch. The company will stop using some 300 million eggs annually as well as remove dairy ingredients from all recipes. MorningStar already converted about 50 percent of its portfolio to vegan recipes, and 65 percent of its products will be all-vegan by the end of 2019.
The company noted it will not sacrifice protein content in its efforts. It is using a "proprietary plant-based blend" to replace the eggs in its products.
In the interim, the company will launch its Cheezeburger 2-packs March 7. The product is topped with a plant-based cheddar "cheese." Full Story
