Lidl has opened a 1,000-square-foot convenience store, Lidl Express, on the ground floor of its Arlington, Va., headquarters, reports Washington Business Journal. Its stores in the U.S. are typically around 20,000 square feet.
The store is open to the public, though the main goal is to bring the products closer to the team, according to a Lidl spokesman.
The store offers coffee, fresh baked goods and some prepared foods, as well as beer, wine, and fresh produce. Although there are currently no plans for additional Lidl Express stores, the spokesman didn't completely rule it out. Full Story
