Alpha Foods has raised $7 million in a seed funding round co-led by New Crop Capital and AccelFoods, as well as other partners. The funding will help Alpha Foods expand its reach by bolstering innovation and distribution.
Alpha Foods was founded in 2015 with a mission to bring clean and sustainable plant-based proteins to consumers. The brand has a portfolio of 20 products, including burritos, pot pies, chicken nuggets, and tamales, that are made with plant-based, non-GMO ingredients. The products are currently available in over 6,000 stores nationwide, including Walmart, Kroger, Publix, Sprouts, and Wegmans.
