San Francisco Soda Ad Warnings Ruled Unconstitutional

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that San Francisco's law requiring health warnings on ads for soda and other sugary drinks is unconstitutional, reports USA Today. This preliminary injunction prevents the law first passed in 2015 to take effect and puts the case back into a lower court. 

“We are pleased with this ruling," said the American Beverage Association in a statement, "which affirms there are more appropriate ways to help people manage their overall sugar consumption than through mandatory and misleading messages." The Association joined retail and advertising organizations in arguing against the city law. Full Story
