What are you most looking forward to at the 2019 Specialty Food Business Summit?
I am looking forward to connecting with foods who share a passion for marketing and growth.
What trends are on your radar for 2019?
I think video will carve a larger role into the marketing ecosystem in 2019. I have already found that Youtube far surpasses a lot of traditional search channels in terms of reach, engagement, and ROI. Another trend I am follow closely is how Facebook advertising evolves as the company is mired in controversy. I think traditional search will jump leaps and bounds in the coming year.
In regard to food trends, I am looking forward to more retailers embracing social channels and other creative outlets to share their brand stories.
How important is it that brands use both creativity and technology to grow their business?
I think it's vital. There is such an abundance of content that it's even more important to stand out in 2019. In years past, just having content for content's sake was enough. That model no longer works; investing in creativity and focusing on ROI matters.
What advice would you give to brands just starting out?
Experiment with every channel possible. Tackle the low hanging fruit like Facebook and Google Advertising first (to give yourself a leg up) but ultimately invest in organic traffic that can snowball and provide you great results without having to dip into the advertising piggy bank more and more.
