A recent study publiced in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine revealed that food labeling has a positive, if somewhat narrow, effect on consumer food choices. For the study, researchers looked at 60 studies in 11 countries that looked at labels on food packaging, point-of-sale materials, and restaurant menus to see if it impacted consumers to eat fewer calories and fat, reduce thier choice of other unhealthy options, and/or eat more vegetables.
