Global Flavors Take the Stage at the Winter Fancy Food Show

Touted as one of the upcoming trends by Specialty Food Association’s Trendspotter panel, flavors from across the world will start to appear in products from beverages and produce, to spices and sauces. Here is a sampling of some global flavors that will be featured at the Winter Fancy Food Show.

Alive & Well Probiotic-Rich Organic Olives: Each jar of sustainably-sourced Alive & Well Probiotic-Rich Organic Olives is prepared in small batches through a process of natural lactofermentation, similar to the process used to make sauerkraut. The result is a robust fruit brimming with authentic Mediterranean flavor and naturally occurring, health-boosting probiotics. Types of olives include Kalamata, Green Rovie, Atalanti, Chalkidiki, and Amfissa.

Dede’s Cajun Cuisine Jambalaya Starter Sauce: This jarred sauce is an all-natural recipe of tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and celery simmered with just the perfect blend of spices. Dede’s other products include Creole Starter Sauce, Louisiana Style Red Hot Sauce, and Southern Spices, which are available for wholesale or retail sale.

Lotus Foods Rice Ramen Noodle Soup Cups: These cups offer a delicious on-the-go soup made with never-fried organic brown rice noodles that are ready to eat in just 3 minutes. Three authentic flavors include Red Miso, Masala Curry and Tom Yum. Lotus Foods focuses on fair and direct sourcing of heirloom and organic rice from family farmers.

Woodland Foods Mexican Mole Sauce Starters: Each of Woodland Foods’ mole sauce starters are inspired by the regional flavors of Mexico. The sauces are gluten- and dairy-free and require just water and a few minutes to prepare. Four sauces will be featured at the show, including: Oaxacan Mole Negro, Oaxacan Mole Amarillo, Pipian Mole Verde, and Manchamanteles Chile-Fruit Mole.

Stash Tea Asian Pear Harmony Tea: Simple but alluring, this light blend draws out the true beauty of Japanese-style green tea and juicy Asian pear. For decades, Stash Tea has placed value on creative flavor innovation, crafting hundreds of inspiring blends in addition to classic tea favorites. From Thailand to China, Stash responsibly sources ingredients from all over the world.
