A new Chicago startup is aiming to bring food options to bars and other establishments that do not have kitchens, reports Chicago Business Journal. 2ndKitchen, founded in 2018, operates a platform that allows businesses without kitchens, like bars, breweries, smoke lounges and bowling alleys, to serve food from nearby restaurants. Venues can create custom menus with options from nearby restaurants, allowing customers to order food and get it delivered directly to the establishment.
2ndKitchen is able to allow businesses that don't serve food to keep patrons in their establishments longer and restaurants to expand their dining options for customers. The company launched with a pilot program at Sketchbook Brewing in Evanston, and officially launched in June. Full Story
