Chinese dairy company Yili Group acquired Chomthana, an ice cream and frozen food distributor in Thailand. The move is part of Yili's internationalization effort, which this year, has included upgrading the European Innovation Center in cooperation with Wageningen University and listing its products on the Indonesian market. Yili expects the acquisition to help its overall performance and says acquiring Chomthana will help Yili gather global energy and deepen mutual benefit.
Chen Yu, a senior dairy analyst, believes Yili's internationalization will be an important driving force for the development of China's dairy industry and will have a positive impact on the development of a global dairy industry.
