The Impossible Burger is now available in about 5,000 restaurants in the U.S., up from about 50 restaurants one year ago. In addition, Impossible Foods confirmed plans to sell the Impossible Burger in grocery stores starting in 2019. The product will also soon debut at more than 30 Dog Haus locations nationwide, as well as 55 Hurricane Grill + Wings locations.
Impossible Foods leverages modern science and technology to make meat alternatives directly from plants. The company estimates Americans have eaten more than 13 million Impossible Burgers since July 2016, and it believes it is on track to eliminate the need for animals as a food production technology by 2035.
