Seattle's Goldbergs' Deli Closes

Goldbergs' Famous Delicatessen in Seattle has closed its doors after 14 years in operation, reports Eater. The beloved Jewish deli cited an unexpected increase in rent, parking issues, and other problems, but left open the possibility of reopening somewhere else.

As the area is swiftly losing many similar longtime gems serving Reuben sandwiches, pickles, matzo ball soup, and other East Coast-style favorites, it is also trying to rebuild its deli scene. Dingfelder's Delicatessen serves corned beef and pastrami sandwiches on Capitol Hill, Standard Bakery is working on an expansion called Zylberschtein's in North Seattle, and Schmaltzy's is aiming for an early 2019 opening in Frelard, according to the report. Full Story
