Raley's has launched a new line of chef-created meal kits. A series of fresh meal solutions, including full kits, quick kits, creative kits, sides and components, are being offered. The recipes were developed by Raley's culinary innovation manager and chef, Evelyn Miliate. The meals are seasonally inspired and will rotate quarterly. Meal kits come with all items to make a full meal; quick kits come with precut vegetables and cooked chicken; steamed vegetable sides pair with a grab-and-go rotisserie chicken; and build-your-own kits include several different combinations of sauces, starches, and vegetables.
The kits can be found online and customers are given the option to pickup at the store or have them delivered. Citing data from Nielsen, Raley's found that more than half of shoppers want to purchase components separately and build their own meals, while seven in 10 want to try new recipes and new foods. Consumers today are looking for kits that emphasize fresh food, health, and nutrition, according to the company.
