Suntory, a Japanese spirits company, is bringing Roku Gin and Haku Vodka to the U.S., reports Food & Wine. The two liquors will be considered premium brands and will be sold at a price point of $27.99.
Roku is made by marrying Japanese botanicals including sakura flower, sakura leaf, yuzu peel, sencha tea, Gyokuro tea, and sansho pepper with eight traditional gin botanicals. The resulting liquor is reportedly silky and smooth with a heady spice of pepper and hint of yuzu. Haku vodka is made from 100 percent Japanese white rice and filtered through bamboo charcoal. It has a delicately sweet taste, and it's one of only a few Japanese vodkas currently available in the U.S., according to the report. Full Story
