Mercato Moves Headquarters to San Diego

Mercato has moved its headquarters from New York City to San Diego. This move is part of the company's plan to expand in markets coast-to-coast. The online ordering and delivery platform is aiming to boost its customer base, which currently includes over 650 independent grocers, and attract top tech talent. The founder and chief executive officer, Bobby Brannigan, believes San Diego holds promise for startups.

"We moved Mercato to San Diego because of its amazing weather, vibrant and growing downtown, and lower cost of living compared to cities like New York City and San Francisco," says Brannigan. "As one of the country's most desirable cities to live in, San Diego attracts top talent, now an advantage for Mercato."

The company recently added 14 staff members who will be working at the new facility, and it plans to continue adding personnel throughout 2019. The company will also maintain office space in New York for sales staff.
