Pommery Moutarde de Meaux, a French grainy mustard, has won the Grand Champion award at the 2019 World-Wide Mustard Competition. More than three hundred mustards from around the world entered the competition, coordinated by the National Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wis.
Beaverton Foods of Oregon took home six medals, including the Gold Medals in Classic Hot, Pepper Hot, and Horseradish/Wasabi. The Swedish mustard maker LissElla also captured three Gold Medals in Sweet-Hot, Fruit, and Mustard-based BBQ Sauce. More than forty judges sampled mustards in seventeen different categories, including: sweet-hot, mild, honey, classic Dijon, whole grain, herb-veggie, fruit, spirit, American yellow, exotic, and mustard-based BBQ sauces/glazes/marinades.
